Like so many who now live in this valley, we love nature, largely untouched, that surrounds us. We are in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines in Emilia Romagna on the border with Tuscany and Liguria. La Val Taro, together with Val Ceno, is the territory of the Parma Apennines community centers Montana West.

Not far from the state of the CISA (SS62) means of communication that combines Liguria (Sarzana) al Veneto (Verona), reached by the eponymous highway, The hotel is approximately 70km from Parma. Milan and Bologna are about 170 km, Genova a 110 km and Florence 230 km circa.

La Lunigiana, The Cinque Terre and the sea can be reached quickly by car or by train, while for cultural excursions we are in the territory of the Castles of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza with Compiano Castle and the Fortress of Bardi short distance, without forgetting, obviously, Parma and its history.

A few kilometers from us, Direzione in Bardi, is located on the WWF Oasis of Ghirardi: the nature of Val Taro is further preserved in these 600 hectares of reserve, open to visitors every day.

Very interesting hiking, thanks to the trails marked by the CAI, one of which passes behind the farm (segnavia 843B), and the many branches of the Via Francigena, Via Degli Abati. For example, with a distance of half an hour we reach the Church of St. Christopher (secolo X) and in an hour and a half times the characteristic Lake Good.

From 1996 Borgotaro is also famous for the Mushroom IGP (unique in Europe and definitely to taste!), that every year in the fall are dedicated a festival and a fair.
At the end of winter “Il Bùrgu” (in the local dialect) crazy all week carnival, to the point where even in summer to celebrate the end of July, but only for one night.

Definitely a territory to discover, why do you expect!!!
